The Conjuring's James Wan teases new horror movie Malignant for 2021
The Conjuring and Aquaman director James Wan wrapped production on his new flick Malignant last week.
Starring Peaky Blinders actress Annabelle Wallis, Jake Abel and George Young, this one promises to be a creepy spectacle in the vein of old-school horror-thrillers.
Wan took to Instagram recently with an altered release date to announce.

"MALIGNANT comes out September 10th," he declared, next to a menacing promotional image for the film.
"I finally wrapped it last week. This was supposed to be my 'little horror thriller' I do between the big ones, but the pandemic pushed it as long [as] the big ones.
"I'm super excited for this film. I don't even know how to describe it. I wanted to do something original and genre-bending, and different to my other work, but still in the spirit of the horror-thrillers I grew up with. More to come. #MalignantMovie."

Is it just us, or is there something reminiscent of Jordan Peele's Us in this shot?
"That is very Dario Argento looking!" commented one of Wan's followers, before a second added: "Seems like demonic Giallo. Super psyched."
Malignant is scheduled to hit the big screen on September 10 in the US, but UK viewers might have to wait a little while longer to see it.
