Michael B. Jordan has shared the first trailer for Creed II and it looks like Adonis has everything to lose.

The Black Panther stars returns as the boxer son of Apollo Creed who earned the respect from Rocky and the community by proving his worth in that final boxing match against “Pretty” Ricky Conlan in Creed.

Now he’s got a family with Tessa Thompson’s Bianca and the need to prove himself once more against his toughest rival yet: the son of the man who killed his father in the ring.

Yep, Donnie will be facing Viktor Drago, the son of Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago, who was the villain of Rocky IV that killed Apollo during an exhibition match.

Now both sons will be fighting to regain their father’s honour in the ring but hopeful this time it won’t lead to fatal consequences.

Here’s the official synopsis of the sports sequel:

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring.

Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.
