Everyone’s favourite miserly Scottish millionaire is coming back to the small screen, with one of the best-loved Scottish actors of our time on voice duties.

Yes, Disney have a revival of ‘DuckTales’ in the works, and they’ve cast none other than David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck. Cue obvious jokes about whether the ex-‘Doctor Who’ will be paid with a swimming pool full of gold coins.

Alongside Tennant’s Uncle Scrooge, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie will be voiced by Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan, whilst Beck Bennett voices ace pilot Launchpad McQuack, Toks Olagundoye is the housekeeper Mrs Beakley, and Kate Micucci is Mrs Beakley’s granddaughter Webby Vanderquack.

This new take is set to premiere on Disney XD in summer 2017, with 21 half-hour episodes.

To introduce the new voice cast, a video has been released showing the ensemble singing the show’s memorable theme tune, which surely means we can expect that same song to play over the reboot’s opening titles.

Altogether now: “Life is like a hurricane, here in Duckberg…”
