'Days Of The Bagnold Summer': Exclusive Earl Cave clip

After receiving rave reactions from the festival circuit, Simon Bird’s directorial debut Days Of The Bagnold Summer is arriving on digital platforms on Monday, 8 June. We love this film so much, Yahoo Movies UK is hosting a Digital Premiere for the film on release day - details here.

The charming coming of age tale was due to receive a full theatrical release but with cinemas closed the Inbetweeners star’s film is now coming straight to VOD. We’re thrilled to share a clip from the film, which features music from acclaimed indie band Belle & Sebastian.

The film, which also stars Rob Brydon, Alice Lowe, Tamsin Grieg and Tim Key tells the story of disaffected, heavy metal-loving teenager Daniel Bagnold (Earl Cave, son of rocker Nick Cave), who has his summer holiday plans upended when his big trip to Florida is cancelled at the last minute.

His mum Sue (Bafta-winner Monica Dolan on superb form) only wants the best for Daniel, despite despite a growing distance between them, and sends him out job-hunting to get him out of the house.

The clip above shows Daniel handing his CV out with as much enthusiasm as he can muster. Which is not a lot.
