‘Alita: Battle Angel’ is set in the 26th century, and tells the story of a female cyborg (played by Rosa Salazar) who is found in a junkyard by a scientist. Ed Skrein is perhaps best known for the villainous role of Ajax in ‘Deadpool’ but has also starred as Daario Naharis in Season 3 of ‘Game of Thrones’ as well as taking the lead role in ‘The Transporter: Refueled’.
But who will he be playing in ‘Alita: Battle Angel’?
“Skrein will play a character named Zapan, a villainous cyborg who is in possession of a weapon called the Damascus blade.”
The film is reportedly heading into production some time in October.
‘Alita: Battle Angel’ stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz and Jackie Earl Haley.
Robert Rodriguez will direct, based on a screenplay by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis. Cameron will also produce, alongside Jon Landau.
‘Alita: Battle Angel’ heads to cinemas on 20 July 2018.
