Emily Blunt Teases Edge Of Tomorrow Sequel
‘Edge of Tomorrow’ star Emily Blunt admits she’s interested in reprising her role for a sequel… and might even have seen Tom Cruise’s story outline.
During an interview with Uproxx, the 32-year-old British actress revealed she would be interested in suiting up as Sergeant Rita Vrataski once more.
“I would for sure,” she said. “But the idea would have to be good; it would just have to be a great idea. I don’t want to dilute how great the first one is with a second one that’s not as good. I’m terrified of sequels, to be honest with you.”

Of course, she makes a fair point – ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ was an underrated masterpiece and one of the most original sci-fi films in recent years. Not to mention that the entire plot was wrapped up rather neatly by the end of the film.
Does it really need a sequel?
Either way, rumour has it that Tom Cruise is working on a follow-up as we speak… and has a rather brilliant idea for the second movie. What’s more, Blunt admits that she’s actually heard Tom Cruise’s idea.
“He has a semblance of an idea,” she told MTV News. “He e-mailed me, basically saying: ‘Are you in?’ And the others like Chris McQuarrie and Owen Stoth and like, I think there’s sort of the feeling of like, ‘Would everyone be up for this?’ kind of conversations.”
She also admitted that she’s had a ‘slight hint’ of what the concept was, although she couldn’t reveal what that might be.
“It’s a seedling of an idea,” she added.
Quite what that idea is, remains to be seen. But if Tom Cruise is serious about an ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ sequel, I get the feeling it’s going to have to be good.
