During a live Q&A at the Fantastic Beasts Facebook Page, ‘Harry Potter’ author J.K. Rowling confirmed that the upcoming spin-off movie is the first in a five film franchise.

Although ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is yet to open in cinemas, it looks as though we have another four instalments to look forward to. And it seems that ‘Harry Potter’ scribe J.K. Rowling will be penning each of them.

Rowling has confirmed that she has just finished plotting the overall arc of the pentalogy out… adding that there could always be even more movies down the line.

But what do we know so far?

Apparently, the next ‘Fantastic Beasts’ movie won’t be set in New York. Instead, it will likely see Newt Scamander heading off to another global capital in search of yet more Fantastic Beasts.

And that’s not all.

“Warner Bros. has already dated a sequel for 2018,” revealed EW, “which is said to move deeper into ‘an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt and our other heroes have to decide on their allegiances’.”

‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ stars Eddie Redmayne, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterstone, Alison Sudol, Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight, and Ezra Miller.

David Yates directed the movie, based on a screenplay by J.K. Rowling.

‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ heads to cinemas on 18 November 2016.
