Simon Pegg introduces final rip-snorting trailer for sci-fi blockbuster.

The final international trailer for ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ is here, and Benedict Cumberbatch’s villain gets some choice lines.

“I will walk over your cold corpses” he says to the crew of the Enterprise, before telling Kirk: “I am better at... everything!” Awesome stuff from the Sherlock star.

This action-packed trailer, presented to Yahoo! Movies UK readers by star Simon Pegg, was also hiding a secret ‘Easter egg’.

Eagle-eyed internet users spotted a very small link next to an almost naked Alice Eve’s hand in certain versions of the trailer (though not the current UK one). Wonder why they paused the trailer at this point, we wonder?

It’s a link to a brand new poster, which you can see below.

We spoke to Cumberbatch back in December, and he described the villain John Harrison to us:

"He is fed into the crew of the Enterprise and creates a lot of shadow play between Kirk and Spock. He is an awesome single-handed weapon of mass destruction but also a master mind-player and manipulator who plays with their roles and loyalties and understanding of what's right and wrong. As far as his own purpose, beyond the terrorist means, he has a noble cause, which will hopefully resonate with the audience."

Producer Bryan Burk said he was glad the sequel had a stronger villain this time round. Nero, the antagonist in 'Star Trek' played by Eric Bana, was felt by some to be lightweight and was only given a few minutes of screen time. "The villain in this movie is a significantly stronger role," said Burk

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ is released in the UK on May 9, a week earlier than the US release.

Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg and Anton Yelchin all return to the cast, while Alice Eve, Noel Clarke and Peter Weller join the franchise.
