First Look At Matthew McConaughey In Stephen King’s The Dark Tower
Matthew McConaughey has been spotted on the streets of New York while filming the long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’.
The production was filming in Madison Square Garden when one New Yorker snapped the Oscar-winning star in costume as Walter Padick - “the man in black” - a character King describes as “the embodiment of evil”.

The film, written and directed by Nikolaj Arcel, is shooting in the Big Apple over the next few days, so hopefully we’ll also get to see Idris Elba in costume as Roland Deschain - the Gun Slinger - soon too.
‘The Dark Tower’ is set for release in February 2017, but it’s had a long and tortured road to the big screen so far. Stephen King’s first book in the 8-novel series was released in 1982, and JJ Abrams was initially attached to produce and direct a movie version back in 2007.
After failing to get his seven-film saga off the ground, Abrams subsequently passed the torch to Ron Howard in 2010. The ‘Apollo 13′ director pared the story down to a trilogy of films with Javier Bardem and Viggo Mortensen set to star before that also fell apart in 2014.
Sony Pictures have now managed to get the epic series off the ground, retaining Ron Howard as a producer, and King fans are getting very excited about finally getting to see this science-fiction/western/fantasy epic on the big screen.
