First look at Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc in new Knives Out film
Daniel Craig has been displaying a brilliantly foppish style both on and off screen since he hung up his licence to kill, and pleasingly he’s doing so again in the first images from the new Knives Out film.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is the third film featuring Benoit Black, the Southern gent detective created by writer-director Rian Johnson. A snapshot shared by Johnson during filming set the mood, see here:
But we now have another look at Daniel Craig in character alongside Knives Out newcomer Josh O’Connor (The Crown) in the main image above. With floppy hair and a dandy tweed suit, the detective is cutting his trademark dash in the new movie.
As to what it’s about, we don’t know. The setting is undisclosed, but a brief teaser has Blanc saying it’s his “most dangerous case yet.”
What we do know is that it is set around a dinner party and has a stellar cast as usual, including Glenn Close (Dangerous Liaisons, Fatal Attraction), Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, Dune), Mila Kunis (Black Swan, Luckiest Girl Alive), Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, The Town) and Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers, Ripley).
And after Knives Out referenced a Radiohead song and Glass Onion referenced a Beatles song, this one references a U2 song, although one from their least-loved album, Pop.
Despite that, we eagerly await more information.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is coming to Netflix globally in 2025.
