Yahoo Movies First trailer for Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White's new movie The Iron Claw
The Iron Claw, the new film starring Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White, has dropped its first trailer.
The latest feature from Sean Durkin (The Nest, Martha Marcy May Marlene) focuses on the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers who popularised the titular hold. The drama will depict their lives both inside and outside of the ring, with both frontiers involving battles.
Efron and White are joined in the cast by Harris Dickinson and Stanley Simons, with the group playing brothers Kevin, Kerry, David and Mike respectively. Maura Tierney and Holt McCallany play parents Doris and Fritz, with the supporting cast also including Lily James.

The trailer depicts the close bond that is initially shared between the brothers, with their love for wrestling protecting them from a supposed “family curse”. Over time, their relationship begins to strain as their father becomes more demanding, with disastrous consequences on the horizon.
White, who reportedly gained 40 pounds in weight for the role, was recently seen on the small screen for the second season of The Bear, in which he plays award-winning chef Carmy Berzatto.
The FX drama has received acclaim during its run so far, and White revealed that Carmy’s journey and insecurities mirrored his own life following the conclusion of Shameless, where the actor played Lip Gallagher.

“I was definitely having a lot of self-doubt when I was finishing Shameless. I think that was something Carmy was really struggling with, too,” he told GQ. “We kind of found each other at a similar place.
“He knows he's really gifted at this thing, but he could be painfully insecure about his abilities as well. I was feeling a little insecure at the end, too,” he added.
The Iron Claw will be released in the US on December 22; there is currently no UK release date.
