Gary Goldsmith and Lauren Simon are first ‘CBB’ housemates to face public vote
‘Celebrity Big Brother’ has revealed Gary Goldsmith and Lauren Simon will be the first housemates to face the public vote ahead of the first live eviction of the series.
The pair’s fellow housemates learned on Thursday (07.03.24) night’s episode of the ITV reboot of the show Lauren, 51, received the most nominations from her fellow housemates this week.
Businessman Gary, 59, was previously nominated by celebrity lodger Sharon Osbourne, 71, who had the power to nominate one housemate to face the first live eviction.
Lauren received six nominations from her housemates Bradley Riches, Colson Smith, Gary, Marisha Wallace, Nikita Kuzmin and Zeze Mills.
Friday (08.03.24) night will see either Gary or Lauren be evicted from the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house a week after they entered the show.
Lauren has used her time on the show to reveal Simon Cowell, 64, promised to make her a famous singer in her 20s, sharing the story with fellow contestant and former ‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh, 71.
Gary – the uncle of Catherine, Princess of Wales – was said to have caused shockwaves in the royal family when it was announced he was entering the house, but he vowed to be diplomatic and not share their secrets.
He has also said Catherine “doesn’t want to talk about” her health battle.
The 42-year-old royal has not been seen in public since she was hospitalised in January and underwent abdominal surgery, and Gary stayed tight-lipped about her condition when his castmate Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 29, asked the businessman “Where’s Kate?” on the show.
He initially stammered: “So, because she doesn’t want to talk about it… the last thing I’m going to do is… ”, before citing a “code of etiquette”.
Catherine’s mum Carole’s brother then added: “If it’s announced, I’ll give you an opinion… she’ll be back. Of course she will.”
