Also starring in the sequel is Andi Matichak as Strode's granddaughter, James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle as Michael Myers and Will Patton as a sheriff.
Director Green has previously discussed the film with The Hollywood Reporter, saying: [Halloween Ends is] very different in tone from Halloween and Halloween Kills, and I think that’s part of my self-indulgence.
"I very often jump around in genres and explore different themes and characters through movies, I just came up with a new twist ending on the ending that existed a couple weeks ago, and that’s something that only I hold the piece of paper that has those words on it.”
There have been 12 Halloween films in total with Carpenter only involved in the first two. The series was originally rebooted by Rob Zombie in 2007 to mixed reviews.
Green then relaunched the franchise with 2018's Halloween which featured Curtis returning to the role she last played in 2002's Halloween: Resurrection. The film is also a direct sequel to the original Halloween, retconning all the other follow-ups.
Curtis was most recently seen in cult hit Everything Everywhere All at Once where she plays a villainous IRS officer.
Some of her other best known films include Knives Out, True Lies and The Fog.
Halloween Ends hits UK cinemas on 14 October.
