Happy birthday, Patrick Mahomes! Look back at his development from young star to NFL MVP
On this date 24 years ago, the future of the NFL was born.
Patrick Mahomes II, a native of Tyler, Texas, was born on September 17, 1995, to Randi Mahomes and former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes. He participated in multiple sports growing up, including baseball, but ultimately settled on a life in football – which we should all be thankful for.

The young star quickly blossomed in the NFL after playing college football at Texas Tech. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, made his first start for the team later that season, and in 2018, was named NFL MVP.
The sky is the limit for the now-24-year-old, who has received the praise of the legends at his position, including Tom Brady and Drew Brees. The talented quarterback and style icon, who fell just short in last year's AFC Championship game, has his sights set on Super Bowl LIV.
