The film will follow Claudia (Abigail Donaghy) as she grows up in Silicon Valley “in the shadow of Steve Jobs’ triumphant return to Apple, and his outsized influence on her imagination, ambitions and relationships.”
Pedretti will play an older version of Claudia, with Greer and Sommer assuming the roles of her mother and father respectively. Lola Flanery and Utkarsh Ambudkar form the remainder of the cast, with the project being written and directed by Kayci Lacob.
Tom Nunan, who is producing the film as part of Bull’s Eye Entertainment, said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to have such a prolific and talented group of actors on board and look forward to seeing them bring these wonderful characters to life.”
Pedretti played the role of Nell Crain in Hill House, before leading follow-up Bly Manor with her performance as Dani Clayton. The future of the Netflix anthology series is currently unknown, with creator Mike Flanagan leaving the possibility up in the air.
“If the stars align in such a way that we decide to go back into the Haunting world, it would have to be so much on that track that we've set up,” he said.
“It would have to be with the right piece of IP [intellectual property], it would have to be with the right ghost-centric story, and it would have to really fit with Bly and Hill House.”
The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor are available to stream on Netflix.
