Henry Cavill has announced that he and his girlfriend are expecting their first child together.

The Superman and Argylle actor confirmed that his other half Natalie Viscuso is pregnant, although he didn't say how far along she was.

Speaking to Access Hollywood at the premiere of his new film, Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Cavill announced the good news.

"I'm very excited about [fatherhood]. Natalie and I are very, very excited," he said. "Yeah, I'm sure you'll see much more of that."

In the same interview, he also talked about how Natalie didn't mind him spending four months growing the "twirly-whirly" moustache that he sports in the film.

"It's a bit of an interesting look, but yeah, she liked it," he said. "I miss it."

Henry and Natalie first confirmed that they were an item back in 2021, and made their red carpet debut a year later.

On the red carpet for his new movie, Cavill also praised his co-stars for the professionalism and their commitment to taking risks.

"It was nice working with people who are professionals and wanted to get stuck in, [and who] weren't afraid of anything," he said, "because working with Guy can be a little bit scary at times.

"We'll have new dialogue on the day, new monologues, and all sorts. Alex Pettyfer had an accent change on his first day. And everyone just got stuck in, everyone does the job."

The film tells the (heavily fictionalised) story of a clandestine group of operatives that were formed under Winston Churchill in World War II.

The official synopsis explains that their "unconventional and entirely 'ungentlemanly' fighting techniques against the Nazis helped changed the course of the war and in part gave birth to what is the modern Black Ops unit".

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare will be released in US cinemas on April 19. A UK release date has not been announced yet.
