Yahoo Movies Hugh Grant wrote his own Bridget Jones 4 scenes
Hugh Grant has revealed that he wrote his own scenes in the upcoming Bridget Jones movie.
Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy will be the fourth instalment in the franchise, following Bridget (Renée Zellweger) as she navigates motherhood alone with two children.
Grant will return to the fold as Daniel Cleaver, though the actor has admitted that his role in the screenplay didn’t satisfy him initially.

“I loved the script – it made me cry, and I wanted to help with this one,” he told Vanity Fair. “But really there’s no part for Daniel Cleaver in it at all. They wanted him in it, and in the end, they’d done something I wasn’t crazy about.”
Grant went on to reveal that he “wrote some scenes” for his character, which the filmmakers decided to include, leading him to officially sign on.
Speaking further about the movie, he teased: “It’s absolutely the best [Bridget Jones book], and I think it’s very funny and very, very moving. I’m not in a lot, I did a week’s work, that’s it…. But when you see the film, you’ll be very moved.”
The first trailer for Mad About The Boy was recently released exclusively in cinemas, and features Grant’s character whipping up cocktails with Jones’s children, labelling the drink a "dirty bitch".

In a nod to a line from the first movie, he takes a sip and calls it a "filthy bitch" instead.
Filming on the fourth movie wrapped last month, studio Working Title confirming the news with the words: "That's a wrap. See you on Valentine's Day."
Alongside Grant and Zellweger, the sequel will welcome back Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent as Bridget's parents, Sally Phillips, Shirley Henderson and James Callis as Sharon, Jude and Tom, Emma Thompson as Doctor Rawlings and Sarah Solemani as Miranda.
Joining the cast are Doctor Strange's Chiwetel Ejiofor, One Day's Leo Woodall, The Last of Us' Nico Parker, I Hate Suzie's Leila Farzad and Arrested Development’s Isla Fisher.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will be released in cinemas on February 14, 2025.
