‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ star Chris Pratt is being awarded his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony to unveil the star, considered as recognition for “making it” in Tinsel Town, will take place on April 21, Variety reports.

The news was announced by Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, via Twitter.

Pratt, who is currently on the promotional trail for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ in Japan with his wife Anna Faris, will appear in person at the ceremony which will also be livestreamed online. Faris, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ director James Gunn, and Hollywood Chamber President/CEO Leron Gubler will also be there to unveil the star.

It’s been quite a wild ride for 37-year-old Pratt who initially found fame on television in ‘The O.C.’ and ‘Everwood’ before making himself a household name as Andy Dwyer in the Emmy-nominated ‘Parks and Recreation’. Hollywood beckoned with the actor landing support roles in ‘Wanted’, ‘Moneyball’, ‘Jennifer’s Body’, and ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ but the A-list beckoned and his star went stratospheric after the final season of ‘Parks and Rec’ landing leading roles in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘The LEGO Movie’, and ‘Jurassic World’.

He’s set to reprise his breakout role as legendary intergalactic outlaw Star Lord in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ in cinemas on 28 April, and is currently shooting ‘Jurassic World 2’ in London.

The UK premiere is taking place at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London on Monday 24 April with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillen, Pom Klementieff, Kurt Russell, and director James Gunn all set to appear.

There are currently over 2,600 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame covering 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Los Angeles, California. The stars pay tribute to the brightest lights of the entertainment industry.
