Kingsman 3: Matthew Vaughn has a big idea for a sequel
It looks as though ‘Kingsman 3’ could happen…
And Matthew Vaughn has an idea for the possible sequel.
During an interview with Deadline, the 46-year-old filmmaker revealed that he and co-writer Jane Goldsmith have already discussed a third ‘Kingsman’ movie… and they have a big idea.
“Weirdly while we were writing Kingsman 2, we were thinking of Kingsman 3 as well, which is odd,” he explained. “We’ve got a big idea for that. This is sort of the bridge and if we can pull this off, we’ll make another one.”

But where will ‘Kingsman 3’ go from here?
Well, that all depends on what happens in ‘Kingsman 2’. The upcoming sequel – ‘The Golden Circle’ sees the Kingsman agency all but destroyed, with their HQ completely obliterated by an unknown villain (presumably Julianne Moore’s character).
Although Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Merlin (Mark Strong) survive the attack, their organisation has been razed to the ground. And that raises the question – can they bring Kingsman back from the dead?
I can’t help thinking the answer lies with Harry Hart (Colin Firth) – the former Kingsman agent who is seemingly brought back from the dead in the upcoming sequel. And if their global espionage network stands any chance of returning, surely the responsibility lies with him?
Of course, it likely depends on how well ‘Kingsman 2’ does at the box office…
If there’s still an appetite for ‘Kingsman’ movies once the upcoming sequel has been released, then I’d personally welcome a third instalment. But if the second film feels like a bridge to a third film rather than a complete movie in its own right, it could leave the audience feeling a little cheated.
But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.
‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ stars Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Julianne Moore and Elton John.
Matthew Vaughn directed the film based on a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman.
‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ heads to cinemas on 29 September 2017.
