Lee Ryan has reportedly been arrested after being abusive to cabin crew on a flight where he is said to have been refused alcohol.

The Blue singer was on a British Airways flight from Glasgow to London City Airport on Sunday when the row kicked off, according to The Sun - and appears to have spent a night in the cells afterwards.

Reports from other passengers claimed that the 39-year-old popstar's behaviour became "crazy" and "intimidating" after he was refused a drink.

One fellow traveller told The Sun: "He became aggressive with the air hostesses once it became clear he wouldn’t get given alcohol. At one point he left his seat and started walking up and down the aisle despite being told to sit down — he even ran behind the cabin crew curtains."

The flight was said to have been delayed by 20 minutes as he was apparently arrested on landing in London.

A Met Police statement said: “At around 1640hrs on Sunday, 31 July, officers met a flight that had arrived at London City Airport from Glasgow.

“A 39-year-old man was arrested for a public order offence. He was taken into custody at an East London police station and was released under investigation the following day.”

Big Brother has recently been announced for a return in 2023 and when Ryan took part, he famously ended up in a love triangle with fellow housemates Casey Batchelor and Jasmine Waltz.

Ryan's other controversies have included a drink drive charge, claiming to have seen aliens twice, saying that governments worldwide planned to microchip people, and offensive comments in the wake of 9/11.

Speaking in October 2001 after the terrorist attacks, he said: "Who gives a f*** about New York when elephants are being killed? They are ignoring animals that are more important. Animals need saving and that's more important. This New York thing is being blown out of all proportion."

He later apologised and also tried to explain his comments during his time in the Big Brother house.
