Leonardo DiCaprio channels Steve McQueen in new ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ poster
A brand new poster for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood has been released, in which Leonardo DiCaprio channels legendary actor and all round icon Steve McQueen.
However, to call it a poster for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which will be Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film and brings DiCaprio and Brad Pitt together, isn’t exactly correct. Because rather than explicitly promoting the dark comedy, the poster instead is for Operazione Dyn-o-mite!, a movie within Once Upon A Time In Hollywood that stars DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton.

Either way, Leo still looks incredible on the vintage, hand-drawn poster. It easily trumps the rather dull first official poster for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which just featured Brad Pitt and DiCaprio stood next to each other. Here’s the poster for Operazione Dyn-o-mite!

There’s no contest, is there?
The film that immediately springs to mind when I look at the above poster for Operazione Dyn-o-mite! is 1968’s Bullitt, in which McQueen plays a police lieutenant in San Francisco, while it also just so happens to feature one of the most thrilling car chases in cinematic history.
It remains to be seen whether Once Upon A Time In Hollywood features anything that will rival Bullitt, as the crux of its plot is still very much under wraps.
What we do know about it is that it features DiCaprio’s Rick Dalton and Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth traveling around Hollywood and Los Angeles in 1969, encountering the every changing film industry that they hardly recognise anymore.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood also stars Damian Lewis as Steve McQueen, which also provoked the comparison, as well as Al Pacino as Dalton’s agent, Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate, Dakota Fanning as Lynette “Squeaky” From, Bruce Der as George Spahn, Emile Hirsh as Jay Sebring, Damian Herriman as Charles Manson and Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, and Michael Madsen in unspecified roles.
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is released in the UK on July 26.
