Marvel’s Iron Fist Lands Game Of Thrones Star Finn Jones

It looks as though Marvel has found its Iron Fist…

According to Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming ‘Iron Fist’ Netflix series has found its leading man… in the form of ‘Game of Thrones’ actor, Finn Jones.

“Marvel has found its newest superhero: Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones has landed the coveted series lead of Iron Fist,” they revealed. “Jones, who plays Ser Loras Tyrell on the HBO hit, will take on the role of the martial arts master.”

‘Iron Fist’ will be Marvel and Netflix’s fourth superhero collaboration, following in the footsteps of the critically acclaimed ‘Daredevil’ TV series, as well as the recently released ‘Jessica Jones’.

And that’s not all – Iron Fist will make up the fourth and final member of The Defenders.

But who is Iron Fist?

“In the comics Iron Fist is Daniel Rand, who at age of 9 travels with his family to a lost mystical city called K’un-L’un,” they explain. “After some tragic twists of fate, Rand is adopted by the city’s ruler and taught advanced martial arts and the mystical power of the Iron Fist. As an adult, Rand returns to his native New York City and begins a career as a superhero.”

Of course, the character’s martial arts background will likely tie-in nicely with the ‘Daredevil’ TV series… and this could provide a neat entry point for Iron Fist to enter the small-screen world of Hell’s Kitchen.

Iron Fist, played by Finn Jones, is the latest hero to join Netflix, with Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Kristen Ritter as Jessica Jones.
