Matt Damon: 'Bond Is A Misogynist Who Likes Swilling Martinis And Killing People'

Matt Damon’s obviously going to come down on the side of Jason Bourne over James Bond.

But he doesn’t just want to agree to disagree. He’s got a few home truths he wants to get off his chest too.

Oh, and who would win in a dust up.

“I like Bourne better than Bond. Bourne has today’s values; Bond has the values of the 1960s,” he told GQ Australia.

“Daniel [Craig]’s Bond has upgraded him and brought him more into the present, but, classically, that character is a misogynist who likes swilling martinis and killing people and not giving a s**t.

“Whereas Jason Bourne is a serial monogamist - and he’s tortured by the things he’s done and feels empathy and compassion for other people.”

That said, Mr Bourne does kill a fair few bad guys himself.

And as for that scrap?

“Bourne would obviously win in a fight,” he added, definitively.

To judge for yourself, ‘Jason Bourne’, starring Damon and directed by Paul Greengrass, is out across the UK on July 29.
