New Beauty and the Beast poster highlights iconic dance scene

Disney have released the new poster for their upcoming remake of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ - and, in common with most of what we’ve seen from the film thus far, it looks very much in the same spirit as the original film.

The poster for the Oscar-winning 1991 animation highlighted what would become the film’s most iconic scene, in which the title characters dance together:

Now, this new poster for the 2017 live-action version from director Bill Condon (’Gods and Monsters,’ ‘Dreamgirls,’ ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn’) showcases the same key moment in a similarly artistic fashion.

This image also shows (as confirmed by stills released earlier) that the characters are dressed almost identically to their cartoon counterparts, with Belle in a yellow ballroom gown and Beast in a blue jacket.

Emma Watson and a CGI-assisted Dan Stevens take on the title roles, whilst Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Kevin Kline, Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Emma Thompson fill out the cast.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ hits UK cinemas 17 March 2017.
