James Gunn’s parting gift to Marvel Studios before jumping ship to head up DC Studios, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a spectacular swansong not just for Gunn, but for the MCU’s most unlikely of heroes.

This trilogy closer, complete with now customary Awesome Mixtape and pop culture references galore, places Bradley Cooper’s renegade raccoon Rocket front and centre as Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and the crew of the Milano set out to save their friend’s life.

Everybody’s favourite amateur sleuthing, true-crime podcasting trio are back in series three of Only Murders in the Building. After last season’s dramatic finale, which saw *SPOILER ALERT* none other than Paul Rudd’s Ben Glenroy rock up dead in front of a big Broadway crowd, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez) have a new murder to solve.

With dots that don’t quite to-dot with Ben, set photos revealing what looks like potentially multiple weddings ahead, and the promise of a new Arconia resident/visitor in the form of Meryl Streep, this series is set to be killer.

Star Wars: Ahsoka (Original) | Episodes 1 and 2 drop on 23 August, then weekly

Since her introduction in animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano has cropped up all over the galaxy far, far away, appearing in Star Wars Rebels as well as live-action offerings The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian. Now, Anakin Skywalker’s old padawan receives the solo series treatment in the handily titled Ahsoka.

Starring Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka, the series follows the Togrutan former Jedi as she investigates a new threat to the galaxy in the wake of the Empire’s fall. Along the way, fans can expect to see the live-action debuts of several Rebels favourites, including Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), as well as the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen).

Set in a fascinating moment in the SW timeline, and with a cast this strong, Ahsoka is set to be a Force to be reckoned with.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge | Boxset drops on 23 August

In Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge, celebrity survivalist Bear Grylls teaches a set of celebrity guests essential survival skills before testing their mettle in a high-stress situation. Taking place across the snowy peaks of the Canadian Rockies, the deserts of the Great Basin, and Costa Rica’s volcanic rainforests, this one certainly isn’t a walk in the park. More a run, jump, and water-skin of urine in the jungle, honestly.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series S4 | Boxset drops on 9 August

Once described by producer Tim Federle as “Inception with jazz hands”, Disney+’s hilarious meta-comedy High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has finally reached its graduation year, with a fourth and final series debuting in August. Following the current students of East High as they navigate coming-of-age, their school’s movie musical legacy, and putting on their own shows, the series has been a subversive delight all the way through.

Now, in its most meta twist yet, the final series sees the current kids of East High prepping for graduation while mingling with the OG cast of High School Musical. Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, and Lucas Grabeel among others all return to play themselves as they shoot High School Musical 4: The Reunion. If you’re feeling confused at this point, then fear not. As a wise Wildcat once said, "We’re all in this together!"
