New trailer and poster for Pixar's 'Onward' launched

A new trailer for Pixar's latest adventure Onward has just landed, and it's upped the fantastic beasts ratio considerably.

Now we've got unicorns (pretty aggressive ones too, by the looks of it), mermaids and cyclops hurled into the fray.

Like a cross between bawdy 80s comedy Weekend At Bernie's and the fantasy world of Frozen or Shrek, this latest movie from the studio behind Toy Story and The Incredibles takes place in a world of elves, trolls, mermaids, centaurs, fauns, satyrs, gnomes, sprites and goblins.

Except these elves, trolls, mermaids, centaurs, fauns, satyrs, gnomes, sprites and goblins use cars, mobile phones and laptops.

They're just like us, basically, apart from the obvious differences.

Elf brothers Ian and Barley (Tom Holland and Chris Pratt) have grown up without a dad, so when Ian turns 16 and a magical staff offers them to chance to bring him back to life for one day, they jump at the chance – though things go somewhat awry, and they end up with half a dad instead.

Cue a quest to try and bring back to rest of him, and have a rollicking adventure along the way.

Also starring Veep and Seinfeld legend Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer, it lands in the UK on on 6 March, 2020.
