Yahoo Movies Oscars 2020: Billie Eilish said she loved 'The Babadook' while 'growing up' and everyone feels old
Billie Eilish is one of the world’s most famous teenagers, and she turned up on the Oscars red carpet to make viewers feel very old indeed.
The star, who will deliver a special musical performance during the Academy Awards telecast, shocked social media with the revelation that modern horror classic The Babadook was a film she liked “growing up”.

When asked by Billy Porter which movies she enjoyed as a kid, Eilish said: “Growing up, I always loved scary stuff, so I really loved The Babadook and We Need To Talk About Kevin.”
The Babadook told the story of a mother and child tormented by the malevolent protagonist of a mysterious children’s book.
Meanwhile, Lynne Ramsay’s We Need to Talk About Kevin adapted Lionel Shriver’s tense novel about a school shooting, with Ezra Miller as the titular character and Tilda Swinton as his mother.
The 18-year-old was 12 when The Babadook was released in 2014 and just 11 when We Need To Talk About Kevin arrived on US cinema screens, so her answer was perfectly legitimate.
But that didn’t stop it triggering something of a crisis among Twitter users.

Eilish is already having a remarkable 2020, securing five Grammy Awards in January.
She became the first woman and the youngest ever person to win the main four Grammy categories — Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year — at the same ceremony.

Her talents are set to be featured on the big screen when she sings the theme tune for new James Bond adventure No Time to Die.
No Time to Die will arrive in UK cinemas on 3 April.
