Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, will portray Jesus Christ in the indie drama Habit.

The film, directed by Janell Shirtcliff, stars Bella Thorne and, according to EW, follows “a street-smart girl with a Jesus fetish” who pretends to be a nun to escape the fallout of a drug deal.

Jackson has been building an acting career in recent years, with the 22-year-old appearing in the comedy Gringo and the horror TV series Scream.

The rest of the cast is also packed with musical talent, including Bush lead vocalist Gavin Rossdale and singers Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince from rock duo The Kills.

Producer Donovan Leitch said the team “intentionally stacked the film with rock stars” and that it will boast “a very rocking soundtrack”.

Habit is now in post-production, having completed its principal photography before the coronavirus outbreak shut down movie sets all over the world.

Shirtcliff has recently shared photos from the set of Habit to her 42,000 followers on Instagram, including scenes shot in a church and a photo with Thorne.

Jackson has shown herself to be a jack of all trades in her young career, working as both a model and musician as well as her forays into acting.

Last year, she urged fans to “chillax” and react “with a calm mind” to the accusations of child sexual abuse made against her father in the Leaving Neverland documentary.

On Twitter, she wrote: “Do you really think that it’s possible to tear his name down? Like, do you truly believe they stand a chance? Relax and have peace.”

Habit currently doesn’t have a release date.
