Peter Sarsgaard says 'The Batman' will be 'raw'
Peter Sarsgaard has given a very brief update on The Batman, not only insisting that it is going to be “raw,” but also comparing its production to the music of the Pixies.
Sarsgaard, who is playing Gotham District Attorney Gil Colson in Matt Reeves’ re-imagining of Bruce Wayne, Batman and Gotham City, made these remarks to SiriusXM’s Jessica Shaw earlier this week.

Unsurprisingly, Sarsgaard avoided saying anything close to a spoiler about the DC blockbuster, although he clearly got a kick out of listening to the numerous rumours and conspiracy theories regarding his involvement in The Batman.
That’s when the conversation turned to the tone of The Batman, which Sarsgaard was more open about teasing.
But rather than just coming out and giving a vague and generic description of the production so far, Sarsgaard instead compared the tone of the movie and the feeling he gets when he is in front of the camera to the music of the Pixies.
"It's so raw in that way,” he declared. “So, that's what I feel like about this. It is not sanitized. It's got a raw power to it, a raw emotionality."

While that might not seem like a lot, Sarsgaard’s comments are inline with what Reeves and Robert Pattinson, who is taking on the titular role as the Caped Crusader, have been saying about The Batman.
It will be interesting to see exactly how much time Sarsgaard gets in The Batman, too, as the cast for the film is jam-packed full of stars. Not only does it star Pattinson, but Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell are all playing prominent characters, too.
We’ll see what they do with the roles when The Batman is released on June 25, 2021.
