New on Prime Video UK in April 2022: The new movies and TV to stream from 'All the Old Knives' to 'No Time To Die'

Everybody loves a good spy thriller and, this month, Prime Video UK presents the prospect of a modern day espionage tale powered by the charisma and star wattage of Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton. The duo lead Borg McEnroe director Janus Metz's new movie All the Old Knives.

Elsewhere on Prime Video, the likes of Speed, Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak and Will Smith sci-fi I, Robot are being added as catalogue titles. On the original TV front, innovative rotoscope animation Undone is perhaps the most interesting new project.

Described as "The Queen of Italian Pop", Laura Pausini has sold more than 70 million albums all over the world and is a bona fide global sensation. This documentary sees her in front of a movie camera for the first time as she provides intimate access to her life, exploring her rise to fame and what might have happened if she had not won a big song competition in 1993.

All the Old Knives (8 April)

Paranoia lies at the heart of this espionage thriller in which two CIA agents and former lovers — played by Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton — reconnect over a dinner with tension behind it. The agency is reinvestigating a hijacking from a decade ago and exploring the possibility that its tragic conclusion was brought about by a mole within the CIA. Laurence Fishburne and Jonathan Pryce are also part of the cast.

James Bond collection (15 April)

25 James Bond films are being added to Prime Video on 15 April following Amazon's recent acquisition of film studio MGM, which co-owns the 007 film franchise.

The collection includes every official 007 adventure from 1962's Dr No right up to 2021's No Time To Die.

I Love America (29 April)

I Love America features Sophie Marceau as a woman who moves from Paris to Los Angeles in a bid to start a new life with the help of her friend, who is a successful drag bar owner. He creates a profile for Marceau's character on a dating app with the hope of revitalising her long-dormant love life now that her kids have flown the nest and started lives of their own.

New TV coming to Prime Video UK in April

Hacks S1 (1 April)

Arriving on Amazon in the UK after its Stateside debut on HBO Max last year, this comedy series sees fading Vegas stand-up Deborah (Jean Smart) join forces with struggling gag writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder) in an attempt to freshen up her act. A second season has already got the green light.

Luxe Listings Sydney S2 (1 April)

With the real estate market in Sydney worth more than ever before, this reality series follows high-rolling agents as they attempt to flog some seriously pricey properties.

Almost Paradise S1 (15 April, via IMDb TV)

In Almost Paradise, Christian Kane portrays DEA veteran Alex Walker in this action series. After a betrayal and a medical emergency, he jets off to the Philippines to begin early retirement. Naturally though, various contrivances lead to him being dragged into the world of crime and danger.

Outer Range S1 (15 April)

Combining mystery, supernatural elements and Western visuals, this eight-part series stars Josh Brolin as a Wyoming rancher who discovers something dark and strange at the edge of the wilderness.

Verdict S1 (15 April)

Camila Morgado leads the cast of Verdict as a defence lawyer well-versed in the intricacies of the Brazilian criminal system. Bang Bang Baby S1 (28 April)

This Italian series foregrounds the story of a young woman who becomes embroiled in the criminal underbelly of Milan.

Undone (29 April)

This half-hour adult animation utilises an innovative rotoscope style to tell the story of a woman whose relationship with time and memory has been altered by a car accident. Alita: Battle Angel star Rosa Salazar leads the voice cast as Alma, who recruits her reluctant sister to delve into their family history in order to uncover secrets.
