Older, perhaps not a great deal wiser, certainly a bit smarter… Ewan McGregor has been snapped on the set of ‘Trainspotting 2’.

Danny Boyle’s hot-anticipated sequel was filming scenes outside the Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood yesterday, with McGregor on set for the first time.
The scenes saw McGregor’s Renton sharing the frame with Jonny Lee Miller’s Sick Boy for the first time in 20 years.
Sporting sharp suits, and Renton with an army jacket, the pair appear to be on some official business, perhaps relating their pornography business.
The new movie, following on from the events of Irvine Welsh’s original novel 'Trainspotting’, published in 1993 and then adapted by Danny Boyle in 1996, will take on the story of 'Porno’, its 2002 follow up.
In it we see Renton running a successful nightclub in Amsterdam, and Sick Boy, still a heavy cocaine user, coming into ownership of a pub in Edinburgh.
Despite a mutual mistrust, Renton agrees to bankroll Sick Boy’s plan to get into the business of adult films.
Other old cast-members Robert Carlyle (Begbie) and Ewen Bremner (Spud) have already been spotted filming scenes for the new movie in and around Edinburgh.
Boyle returned to the city last month to begin principal photography for the sequel, and has remarked on how it’s changed.
“Coming back to Edinburgh has actually been really fascinating since filming the first Trainspotting,” he told on the Humans of Edinburgh Facebook page.
“Edinburgh has changed dramatically. You can see the gentrification massively in the city.”
The movie is due out in February, 2017.
