'Secret Life of Pets 2' star Kevin Hart is going to pitch a Minions Cinematic Universe
What could be bigger than the Marvel Cinematic Universe? How about a Minions universe? It could happen, if The Secret Life of Pets 2 star Kevin Hart gets his way.
His new animated film comes from Illumination Entertainment – the studio that also brought us the Despicable Me, Minions, Sing, and Grinch films.
With Avengers: Endgame proving that huge cinematic universe event movies are big business – it’s officially the second biggest release at the global box office of all time - Yahoo asked the stars of the upcoming Secret Life Of Pets sequel for their thoughts on a similar movie mash-up of Illumination movies.
And it turns out, Kevin Hart, who voices adorable bunny Snowball, already has plans for a wider cinematic universe beyond the just the motley crew of pets we’ve come to know over the two family movies.

“I actually had an idea just like that, that I wrote down yesterday…. I’m going to pitch it.”
“Actually, I said that [we should make an Illumination crossover movie] and my friend was like, ‘Oh my God, that's like Endgame!” says Hart.
Speaking on the potential of a film featuring the likes of the Minions, Steve Carell’s Gru from Despicable Me, the pets from the Secret Life Of Pets, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Grinch and more, Hart continued, “I think that would be amazing to see all these characters, you know, collide and be in one space.”
He added, speaking about his character in the Secret Life Of Pets movies, “I think the only way that I would do it would be if Snowball was like Iron Man.”
We can actually quite easily picture Snowball forming a super team of kid-friendly (and not to mention, merchandise-friendly) Illumination characters.
Before then, Illumination’s newest film, The Secret Life Of Pets 2, will hit cinemas on 24 May 2019. Watch a trailer below.
