Spider-Man 4 gets a huge update
Spider-Man 4 has received a huge update.
According to Deadline, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton is in talks to direct the highly-anticipated sequel, which is being made by Sony and Marvel.
Cretton will be the fourth director to take on a solo Spider-Man feature, following on from Jon Watts, who helmed the previous three films with Tom Holland, and Marc Webb – the director behind the two Amazing Spider-Man movies that featured Andrew Garfield.
Sam Raimi notably directed the early 2000's Spider-Man trilogy that starred Tobey Maguire as the titular superhero.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was released in December 2021 and broke several records. The film became the seventh-biggest movie of all time after earning $1.92 billion worldwide, and received the best reviews of Holland's Spidey trilogy.
Following the threequel's successful premiere, fans have been eager for more adventures with everyone's favourite web-wielding whiz kid.
In July, MCU boss Kevin Feige issued a promising update on Spider-Man 4, revealing that progress is being made – although it's still in the early stages.
"Amy [Pascal] and I are working on it. We have writers who are going to be delivering us a draft relatively soon," he told io9.

In another interview with CinemaBlend, Feige explained that the fourth film would likely need a new director as trilogy boss Watts is "busy" on other projects.
Back in April, Holland also opened up about the possibility of another film, revealing that he would be open to reprising his role as Peter Parker.
"I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I'll always want to do more," he told Deadline.
"We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we've cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing."
Spider-Man 4 doesn't have a release date yet.
