Star Wars: Emilia Clarke joins Han Solo movie
She’s already joined the ‘Terminator’ series as the most recent incarnation of Sarah Connor – now, Emilia Clarke is set to enter the biggest sci-fi cinematic universe of them all.
Yes, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress is joining ‘Star Wars,’ with a role in the as-yet untitled Han Solo spin-off movie.

An official statement at StarWars.com states that Clarke will join Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.
No details on her character have been given, but we’re told she will “round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.”
So, will Clarke be taking on a brand new character, or portraying a figure we already know from the ‘Star Wars’ series? The former option seems more likely, as – let’s face it – there aren’t too many female characters in the original trilogy beyond Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia, who would seem highly unlikely to feature given the film is set before the events of the original 1977 ‘Star Wars (A New Hope)’.
Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (’21 Jump Street,’ ‘The Lego Movie’), the Han Solo movie is due in December 2018.
