Star Wars Stormtroopers Build A Christmas Tree

‘Star Wars’ fans - this is definitely the Christmas tree you’ve been looking for.

Kyle Shearrer, an inventive ‘Star Wars’ fan from Columbia, Missouri has created a series of hilarious photos with the help of his father… depicting a bunch of Stormtroopers getting into the festive season as they put up a Christmas tree.

Originally appearing on Facebook, the wonderful images depict a group of Stormtroopers as they erect a Christmas tree in the name of the Empire… only to end up getting a surprise visit by Darth Vader himself.

Better hope none of them were slacking off…

“My dad owns about 10 stromtroopers and we always like playing with them,” Kyle explained in a post on reddit. “[We] figured we would do something a little more festive this year. The whole thing took probably an hour or two on and off to set up, and we had a blast trying to give every trooper a little story.”

And that’s no exaggeration…

The first few photos set the scenes – a bunch of Stormtroopers putting up a Christmas tree. But it soon becomes clear that there are other things going on within the photos. If you look closely in the background, you’ll find Luke Skywalker in a Stormtrooper outfit being busted by the Empire.

And when Vader shows up? He gives his pals a hand, using the Force to levitate the tree top.

“We tried to make each picture have a little joke or reference in it.”

‘Star Wars’ has become a big part of Christmas festivities for many fans… and in the UK, the movies have traditionally been shown on TV throughout the holiday season. Did the troopers do a good enough job? Vader certainly seems pleased… for now.

Just don’t mention the ‘Star Wars Holiday Special’.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ heads to cinemas on 17 December 2015.
