Director S.J. Clarkson will direct Star Trek 4, according to reports, the first female director in the movie franchise's history.

It’s a running joke throughout the none-more-meta superhero comedy that budget and contracts prevent Deadpool from interacting with his more A-list Marvel stablemates – Deadpool himself frequently references X-Men that Fox didn’t allow us to see. Yes, the same turbine-powered mobile aircraft carrier as used by the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D.. Fox weren’t allowed to reference the carrier by name, and the design had to be tweaked a little, but ‘Deadpool’ visual artist Emmanuel Shiu confirmed the connection.
‘Star Trek’ is finally catching up with the 21st century as it’s been revealed that Mr. Sulu will be portrayed as a gay man in this summer’s ‘Star Trek Beyond’. Cho told the paper the decision was made by director Justin Lin and screenwriter Simon Pegg “as a nod” to George Takei who played the character in the original TV series and subsequent movies. Takei is openly gay now, but he had to hide his sexual orientation back in the 60s over fears it would ruin his career.
Just a few hours after the release of the first trailer for ‘Star Trek Beyond’ (which you can watch above), Yahoo spoke to director Justin Lin about the upcoming film. Topics for discussion included stepping into JJ Abrams’ shoes as the director, working with Simon Pegg on the script, Idris Elba’s terrifying new villain and his love for the 'spirit’ of 'Star Trek’. Lin, who directed four of the 'Fast And Furious’ films, also told us how the film will honour the 50th anniversary of the 'Star Trek’ universe… and what it was like to destroy the USS Enterprise.
It looks as though the upcoming ‘Star Trek’ sequel will soon be getting its first official trailer… and it’s rumoured to appear before ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
