The turbo-charged ‘John Wick Chapter Two’ arrives in UK cinemas nationwide with an almighty crash-bang-wallop today, but if you’re too impatient to see the dog-loving hitman back in action on the big screen then never fear, for we have the first four minutes of the film to share with you. Keanu Reeves returns as the eponymous hero in the sequel to 2014’s ‘John Wick’, and as you can see he still has a debt to settle with the Russian mob who killed his dog and stole his beloved Mustang. The clip shows Wick as he tracks his motor to the chop shop run by Abram Tarasov (Peter Stormare), the uncle of the mobster responsible for the canicide of the first film, where he proceeds to mete out justice, John Wick-style, with the help of his high-octane vehicle.
Keanu Reeves isn’t a typical action star like your Arnies, your Stallones or your Stathams, but he’s had just as many hits and has starred in just as many classics. After a few years out of the spotlight, Reeves returned to the blockbuster fold with ‘John Wick’ in 2015, a film that appeared to be in the ‘Taken’ mould, but which had enough style to set itself apart. With ‘John Wick: Chapter 2′ out this week (17 February), we decided to run down the best action movies of Keanu Reeves’ career.
John Wick is back… and he’s out of retirement. Starring Keanu Reeves as legendary hitman John Wick, the upcoming action adventure sequel has just released its first teaser trailer. Giving us a glimpse of John Wick as he gets a new suit and prepares for the fight of his life, it looks as though ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’ is going to be every bit as badass as the first movie.
Not only did it gross $86 million from a $20 million budget, but it also achieved critical acclaim and was even labelled a welcome return to form for Keanu Reeves. Because of this success a sequel was soon ordered, and we’ve now been provided with our first look at ‘John Wick: Chapter 2′, which even shows us that the titular star’s brand new dog is still safe and well. Since John Wick has a blood oath to assist him, he travels to Rome to face off against a hoard of the world’s deadliest killers.
Laurence Fishburne and Keanu Reeves – aka Morpheus and Neo from ‘The Matrix’ movies – are finally back together for some long-awaited ass-kicking. Snapped by website The Gothamist, this is the first anyone has heard of Fishburne being part of the cast, and will be the first time Reeves has shared the screen with him since the Wachowski movies. What we do know is that Reeves is back as the retired hit man that you do not cross under any circumstances whatsoever.
