The Fault In Our Stars Exclusive Clip: ‘Tasting The Stars’

The footage, introduced by Shailene herself, sees Hazel and Gus sip champagne in an Amsterdam restaurant, while a friendly waiter explains why said tipple is like “like tasting the stars”. “Typical first date stuff!” explains Shailene.

Based on the hugely popular novel by John Green, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ tells the story of the two teenagers who meet at a cancer support group. Hazel has thyroid cancer which has spread to her lungs, while Gus is cancer free having had his leg recently amputated.

Hazel seems to be losing her battle, but her attempts to distance herself emotionally from Gus seems to be failing as she explains in the trailer, “I’m a grenade. And one day I’m going to blow up.”

“I’m going to obliterate everything in my wake and I don’t want to hurt you.”

Green's original novel, which was published in 2012, is based upon the author’s real life experiences as a student chaplain at a children’s hospital. It became a huge hit upon release and has since gone on to sell over 1m copies.
