The Hulk Won’t Appear In Captain America: Civil War

The Hulk won’t be taking sides in ‘Captain America: Civil War’… as Mark Ruffalo reveals he’ll be sitting this one out.

During an interview with BadTaste, the 47-year-old Marvel superhero revealed that he won’t be taking part in Civil War… and what happened to Bruce Banner will remain a bit of a mystery.

“He’s still out there, his whereabouts are unknown,” he explained. “I thought I’d be in the film but clearly they consider what happened to the Hulk to be something that’s too big, and Marvel wants to keep this piece of information for another time in the future.”

Of course, Bruce Banner made a heart-breaking farewell to the team (as well as love interest Black Widow) at the end of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ – flying off in the Quinjet alone after deciding not to endanger his friends and loved ones any longer.

But what about those rumours that The Hulk would return?

“My character was written in the script but then taken out,” he added. “Who knows, maybe The Hulk will never come back. Anyway, it seems they want to keep the revelation of what happened to him secret, because it’s something that really is going to be big.”

Unfortunately, quite what happened to The Hulk remains a mystery… and it looks as though it won’t be revealed anytime soon. Where exactly did Bruce Banner go? And will he return to the team eventually?

I can’t help thinking that this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. After all, he’s proved to be a very popular Avenger – working well alongside Tony Stark. But will he return during one of Marvel’s upcoming movies, or will he get a film of his own?

Now that’s the big question.

There have been rumours of a Hulk solo movie for some time, but with the current Marvel movie slate, it looks as though it may be some time before the big, green rage monster heads up his own solo adventure.

Will it happen eventually? That remains to be seen… but surely The Hulk has to return sooner or later.

After all, he’s going to be in high demand when Thanos finally shows up.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ heads to cinemas on 6 May 2016.
