Transformers: The Last Knight completes production in the UK

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ has completed its UK-based shoot, and director Michael Bay posted a brief Facebook Live video to mark the occasion.

We already knew the fifth instalment was going to be a somewhat unusual entry in the ‘Transformers’ series. On top of being the first in the multi-billion dollar franchise to shoot in Britain, it also seems it will involve a spot of time-hopping.

Controversially, Bay shot Nazi sequences at Blenheim Hall (CHECK!), birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill; but this video shows that ‘The Last Knight’ will take us back even further than World War 2, as these last scenes shot on British soil would appear to take place on a medieval battlefield.

The director also promises a teaser trailer before the year is out, although he doesn’t confirm a date.

Watch the video below; be warned, Bay swears in the opening seconds (for which he wastes no time apologising).

Bay tells fans, “I’m very excited about this movie, it’s been a fantastic time. The cast, from Anthony Hopkins and Mark Wahlberg, Laura Haddock, Isabela Moner, we have Stanley Tucci, John Turturro, John Goodman… a few surprises for you…

“I just wanted to say thanks to England. Hopefully you saw some of our stuff on the internet, and we’re gonna have a teaser out, not sure if it’s gonna be November or December.”

Bay also mentions the film has a few more days of shooting left, for which they will be moving the production to Namibia, Africa.

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ is set to open on 23 June 2017.
