Video transcript

Going into the season and knowing it was our final and knowing we could hopefully answer some of the questions and uh come to, you know, certain conclusions for the audiences.

Um Yeah, I feel good about it.

Happy is a tough word.

I mean, I think we feel a lot of things.

It's very bittersweet, you know, um something that has been such an integral part of my life for so many years and having to say goodbye is always tough.

But, but again, knowing that this would be our final season and getting the opportunity to wrap up the storylines and answer some questions around Ben um was really exciting and um I was, I was happy that we finally got to sort of dive into some of those things.

I was, I was very happy with the ability to come back because by that point, but by the time you're in season four, there's a little bit of a looseness, a little bit of a comfort when you show up on set and you know, everyone and you sort of know what instrument, everyone's singing and you just know where to fit in.

And so it's almost like an orchestra that's kind of functioning on all levels.

So be able to do that.

You know, you don't really get that a lot because when you're coming into a project, you're, you're testing everything and, and when you come to umbrella after four seasons and you have a character that has a very specific personality and you've seen it grow for three years.

All you can do is just surrender to wherever the scene is going and hopefully magic happens.

Uh So, yeah, I'm very proud and I'm very happy with how it ends.

I, I personally, yeah, for Luther, you know, I took him on a big old journey and um ticked a lot of boxes during the whole process and then the ending I think is exactly what it needs to be for this show.

Um Just the irony of that we're, you know, always trying to prevent the end of the world and actually where the, where the problem.

So we got to go.

Um And I think it's left with a sense of hope, but there's also this sense of completion and we've tied up a lot of loose ends, but also left a few questions which I think is always important.

You don't want to, you know, leave people going.

Oh, well, we've tied up every, I always found that with Lord of the Rings, it was like it never ended.

It's like we must tie up every loose end.

And I think it's nice to, to leave a little bit of a question mark.

So, no, I think it was, I think it, it's done its job.

The show's been very fun to do that.

Just so my bad.

Let me climb up.

Hello.

It's a gratifying thing as an actor to get to play a great character arc.

And, uh, speaking for myself, there's definitely that this season, I was very happy to do that.

I mean, the show, I think ends in a very gratifying way.

Um, I think it's, you know, you get all the answers that you're, you're needing.

Um, and we gone quite an emotional roller coaster through the season.

Um, Lila in particular has quite a raw and vulnerable journey.

It's, it was amazing getting to play at this time with the sort of added depths of being a mother and having a marriage and she's still sort of like, got her, like, core mischievous side.

But, um, yeah, I, I've loved playing her this season.

It's been my favorite season yet.
