Boasting of being “The world’s first ever LEGO ad break”, the 3-minute sequence featured ads for British Heart Foundation, Confused.com, BT Infinity, Premier Inn all recreated in those distinctive tiny bricks.
The faces of Vinny Jones and Lenny Henry (amongst many others) were replaced by grinning minifigs (those little yellow LEGO men to me and you) during the series of adverts which, as well as promoting themselves, were also promoting Warner Bros.’ animated feature.
‘The LEGO Movie’, which features cameos from Batman and Superman, opens in UK cinemas on Valentine’s Day, riding high on a strong opening in the US where it topped the weekend box office charts, taking £42m.
However, Fox News have criticised the film for its ‘anti-capitalist’ message.
