Watch This Hilarious (NSFW) Deadpool/Ferris Bueller Mash-Up
Anyone who sat through the end credits of ‘Deadpool’ in wait for the climactic stinger should already be aware of the movie’s debt to ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.’
In-keeping with the snarky, fourth-wall breaking nature of the comic book anti-hero movie, ‘Deadpool’ recreates the post-credits scene from another movie centred on a snarky fourth-wall breaker; John Hughes’ 1986 teen comedy classic with Matthew Broderick.
It just so happens that this weekend marks the 30th anniversary of ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ opening in cinemas for the first time, and it may be with this in mind that an enterprising soul on Youtube decided to take the ‘Deadpool’ connection that bit further.
Darth Blender edited a new mash-up trailer, ‘Deadpool’s Day Off’ - and the results impressed Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds enough for him to share it with followers on Twitter.
Reynolds remarked, “I’d like to dedicate this to a young man who doesn’t think he’s seen anything good today…” which, of course, is one of Broderick’s lines from ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.’
Watch the video below - and while doing so, ponder whether Wade Wilson or Ferris Bueller is the more dangerously unstable personality…
Be warned: this video is NSFW and not for children.
20th Century Fox release ‘Deadpool’ to DVD, Blu-ray and VOD/download platforms from Monday, 13 June.
