Zack Snyder had a weird cameo in Batman V Superman
It’s official – Zack Snyder was in ‘Batman V Superman’.
It’s no secret that Zack Snyder directed the critically-maligned ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’. But did you know he was actually in the movie? No, me neither. But don’t get too excited – his role was essentially a quick hand job.
“It’s Zack’s hands on Bruce’s cell phone in the fight club,” revealed cinematographer Larry Fong via Twitter. “Now you know.”

I know what you’re thinking – it’s truly amazing stuff.
But where exactly can you find this pivotal cameo appearance?
Well, he’s referring to the scene where Bruce Wayne heads to an underground fight club as part of his investigation into Superman… and he uses his gadget-empower mobile phone in order to take a copy of someone else’s phone – the villainous Anatoli Knyazev (played by Callan Mulvey).
Obviously, there’s a close-up of this happening… and that’s Zack Snyder’s hand.
Mind blowing. Truly mind blowing.
So why did Zack Snyder decide to give himself a weird little hand cameo? Well, it’s apparently not uncommon, with many high-profile actors preferring to duck out of shooting smaller scenes like these.

Actors often use stand-ins and doubles for scenes like these. After all, their time is better spent on larger, more-recognisable scenes. Snyder, on the other hand, doesn’t get to step in front of the camera quite so often… and it was probably easier to shoot this himself than to hire a hand double for such a quick and easy shot.
Where else can we find Snyder in ‘Batman V Superman’?
Well, it seems that’s it as far as cameo appearances go. But he did get the rather cool job of holding the lights on set which simulate the Batmobile’s headlights as they shine down upon Superman.
@JaredWayne97 @theLupeXperienc @IMAX Fun fact: Zack was holding the light that simulated the headlights in this shot.

Not bad, Zack. Not bad at all.
But it’s got nothing on your impressive hand-acting.
‘Batman V Superman’ was released on 25 March 2016.
