David Arquette says Courteney Cox's horrifying hair in 'Scream 3' was his fault
As fringe's go, Courteney Cox's in Scream 3 was every bit as scary as the murderous action unfolding on screen.
She returned to the horror franchise to play muck-raking reporter Gale Weathers in the 2000 sequel, but with an all-new do.

However, the Friends star was widely ridiculed for the startling new look.
Her ex-husband and Scream co-star David Arquette told Entertainment Tonight: “The bangs were my fault. I have to admit, I was like, 'Oh, you should do a like, Bettie Page thing, you know, just like, a little'.
“That was my fault. Totally, I’ll take full responsibility. I mean they’re, you know, a professional hairdresser’s fault of course. And they didn’t really do Bettie Page kind of really blunt bangs. Like, that’s what the idea was.

The franchise was last seen on screen in 2011, with Scream 4, the last film directed by the series' iconic creator, horror maven Wes Craven.
Craven had said that same year that had plans for a fifth and sixth instalment, however, he died in 2015.
Word then spread in 2019 that indie horror specialists Blumhouse had come on board to make the fifth movie, which was followed by announcements that Neve Campbell was in talks to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott, with Arquette set to return as sheriff Dewey Riley.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, who made V/H/S and Tyler Gillett, who helmed Devil's Due, are signed up to co-direct, with production set to begin later this year.
Currently, Campbell's re-appearance remains unconfirmed, but Cox posted to Instagram last month saying that she was on board.
The movie is expected to land via Paramount Pictures some time in 2021, 25 years after the first.
