First Look At Crossbones In Captain America: Civil War

‘Captain America’ villain, Brock Rumlow is back… as Crossbones.

Frank Grillo starred in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ as Hydra double-agent Brock Rumlow… and while he may have taken a bit of a kicking, it looks as though he’s going to be back with a vengeance in the upcoming ‘Captain America’ sequel.

And thanks to Empire Magazine, here’s our first glimpse at his new look.

Of course, Marvel comic book fans will instantly recognise his skull-emblazoned mask… and it looks as though his body armour completes the comic-inspired look.

But why is Crossbones so important?

Marvel’s ‘Civil War’ comic series, written by Mark Millar, essentially split Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they formed support and opposition for the Superhero Registration Act… and it’s a very similar setup for the upcoming ‘Captain America’ sequel.

And Crossbones was involved in one of the most iconic moments to come out of the series…

In the aftermath of the Civil War, opposition leader Captain America is assassinated by Crossbones under orders from the Red Skull…

But will this be his role in the upcoming movie?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but either way, I’m betting he’s going to hold one hell of a grudge after he was almost finished off in ‘The Winter Soldier’. And it’s likely he’ll be gunning for Cap, one way or another.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ stars Chris Evans as Captain America and Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier. Robert Downey Jr. joins them as Iron Man, with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Anthony Mackie as the Falcon, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.

Chadwick Boseman joins as Black Panther, with Tom Holland as Spider-Man.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ heads to cinemas on 29 April 2016.
