First Power Rangers Movie Poster Unveiled
It’s not long until we see the latest reboot of the ‘Power Rangers’ hit cinemas, so here’s our first look at the poster released for the sci-fi adventure.
The upcoming movie from Lionsgate now has a poster to go with the initial glimpse at what the new suits will look like - and the reception was rather mixed considering it’s a franchise that many fans hold dear to them.
But it has to be said, the poster for Dean Israelite’s (’Project Almanac’) live-action movie actually looks pretty nice in terms of its artistry.
Check it out below.
It bears a sort of teens at the beach during a sunset vibe of ‘The O.C.’ but we’re sure it’ll be nothing like that… The stars forming the iconic lightening synonymous with the original title’s logo is a nice touch, as is the main characters retaining character names from the TV show that began in 1993.
The film is set to retell the origin story of how the five Power Rangers came to be, with Hollywood A-listers Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks assuming the roles of Zordon and Rita Repulsa, respectively. They’re joined by a relatively unknown cast, including Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, RJ Cycler as the Blue Ranger, and Becky G. as the Yellow Ranger.
Interestingly, the movie wrapped last month but with Cranston’s role only just announced, it seems his scenes will be added in (which should be fairly easy considering he’ll essentially be a CGI-styled face of Zordon).
Long-time fans will be hoping for a cameo from original Green (and subsequently White) Ranger, played by the legendary Jason David Frank. Here’s hoping he pops up; with any such inclusion bound to be revealed before the film comes out next year.
‘Power Rangers’ is in UK cinemas from 24 March, 2017.
