James Bond 25 set to film in Croatia
It might not have its actual Bond in place yet, but according to reports it’s got an early location in the pipeline.
Bond news site MI6 HQ reckons that production company Eon is in ‘advanced negotiations’ with the city of Dubrovnik for Bond 25.
MI6 HQ cites confirmation from the city’s mayor, Andro Vlahušić, who dropped the tidbit while discussing details of ‘Robin Hood: Origins’, which is also shooting in the medieval city.
“James Bond is in an advanced stage of negotiations,” Vlahušić told local press.
There’s not much more detail other than that, at this stage, but filming on the landmark instalment in the spy series is supposed to be starting this year.
However, there’s also the small matter of whether Daniel Craig will be embarking on a final movie as 007, or whether a new actor – be it Aiden Turner, Tom Hardy or any of the other rumoured stars – will be taking over the tux.
It’s not just Bond and Robin Hood who have been putting the stunning city on the cinematic map.
‘Game of Thrones’ uses the city as the set for King’s Landing, while ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ also filmed there extensively last year.
