Jason Statham turns 50: his ten most underappreciated roles
Jason Statham is 50 years old today, and to millions worldwide he’s revered as one of the greatest action stars of his generation. Not that too many of us might have anticipated the British actor’s career going that way, after his less physical breakthrough roles in Guy Ritchie’s ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and ‘Snatch.’
He really became The Stath we know and love today with the leading role in 2002 beat-’em-up ‘The Transporter’ and its two sequels. More action franchises followed in ‘Crank,’ ‘The Expendables’ and ‘The Mechanic,’ before he really hit the stratosphere by joining the ‘Fast & Furious’ series.
