New on Netflix UK in March 2023: Best movies and TV from Luther: The Fallen Sun to Murder Mystery 2

Idris Elba’s DCI Luther makes his film debut on Netflix this month, while Elvis gets the animated alt-history treatment.

The days may be getting longer again as Spring approaches, but Netflix UK’s March line-up seems determined to keep us cosied up on the couch for as long as humanly possible.

For starters, on the film front there’s the long-awaited return of Idris Elba as DCI John Luther in crime thriller Luther: The Fallen Sun, which sees the disgraced maverick detective hunting down a cyber psychopath played by Andy Serkis.

And for a more family film night friendly option, there’s all-star animated fantasy The Magician’s Elephant, based on the classic children’s novel.

Elsewhere, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are back in action for more sleuthing shenanigans in Murder Mystery 2, whilst provocative documentary Money Shot: The Pornhub Story promises to peel back the curtain on the world’s most famous adult entertainment platform. Last year’s surprise hit telephone tower thriller Fall is also set to make its debut on the platform in March, too.

For your binge-viewing needs, the month kicks off with Danny Dyer and Ellie Taylor fronted game show Cheat, which offers contestants the ability to blag and bluff their way to big cash prizes.

Then, mid-March sees the return of Ben Barnes starring fantasy epic Shadow & Bone for its hotly anticipated second season.

Two very different agent-based offerings round out the month’s highlights. First there’s The Night Agent, a sophisticated White House set action-thriller based on Matthew Quirk’s same-named novel.

And then there’s Agent Elvis, an adult animation that imagines a world where the King of Rock’n’Roll was also an undercover FBI agent voiced by Matthew McConaughey. If that’s not enough to have you feeling all shook up with excitement, then we don’t know what is.
